Latte Love

My Husband is the BEST!!!

Yesterday morning I awoke with a huge hunger for an apple fritter. Bill offered to go to the store and I wasn't about to say no to an apple fritter:O)

A little while later he came home with doughnuts, milk and a Starbucks Latte for me. But the best part was he also gave me a card. When I opened the card it read Lots of Latte Love - Happy Birthday. But he had crossed out the Happy Birthday and written "Happy I love you day".
It brought tears to my eyes.

I am married to the most sinceire, loving and wonderful man EVER! Everyday I am blessed to be Mrs. William Detlor.

Love Never Fails

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for old people. I think they are the cutest most adorable people in the world and I cannot wait to be a cute old, hat wearing lady.
So when I got this email today from my uncle about an old man I had to read it. And as I read it I was brought to tears. I dont know where he got it, but it read like this:

It was a busy morning, about 8:30 in the morning when a man in his 80's, arrived to have the stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9am.
I took his vitals and had him take a seat, know that it would be at least an hour before he would be seen. I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I wasn't busy with a patient that, I would evaluate his wound.
On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, and got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound I asked him if he had another doctors appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.
I inquired about his wife's health. He told me she had been there for awhile and that she was a victim of Alzheimers Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though she dosen't know who you are?"

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me but I still know who she is"

What AMAZING Love this man has for his wife!! Isn't this how the Lord is with us? Even when we are busy with our families, friends, housework and just plain life he still know's who we are and where our hearts are. This email brought tears to my eyes and two gentle reminders....

1. The Lord loves me no matter what and is always there for me
2. My husband is like this man and will be like him even in old age & I can always count on him

It also reminded me of 1 Cor 13: 4-8
"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
and the key here.......... LOVE NEVER FAILS

Growing like a weed

Ellia is 4 months old! I cannot believe that 4 months has flown by. Litterally it has flown by us.
She had her 4 month checkup today. She weighed in at 15.12 pounds and is 25 inches long. She is just growing, growing, growing. And I am still breastfeeding about 60 - 70% of the time.
Ellia loves to swing, play in her exersaucer, still getting used to the Bumbo seat (having toys like in the picture help her stay seated). She is cooing , laughing and smiling all the time. Bill loves to make her laugh by pretending to sneeze. Ellia thinks when you sneeze that is the funniest thing ever.
Having Ellia in our lives has made our family so complete. We thought we were so content, and we were. But adding her into our little family has made it more complete and us more content. It's hard to put it just right into words, but I am sure you will all understand my point here. We love her sooooooo very much and every day we thank God for blessing us with such a special little girl.

Snow Day

Yesterday, Bill and I awoke to 4inches of snow on the ground. We were very excited to take Ellia out to play in it. (Not her first snow - as it snowed on Christmas, but her first "real" snow day) Even passing up a phone call from Cousin Julie so we could go out and play. Sooooooo, we get her all bundled up in her snow suit and make sure she is toasty warm. And she falls asleep. That's right before we can get her out in the snow she falls asleep.

So in all of these pictures she is asleep.

We decided to have fun for her and we built her a snowman - "Harry" - while she slept in her bouncy seat on the front porch. Then Daddy helped her make snow angels and you guess it she slept right through those too. Oh well Bill & I had fun playing like little kids in the snow, we got some fun pictures & it will make for a fun story when Ellia gets older - how she slept through her first "Real" snow day.

I dont wanna

Do you ever feel like this picture? ??
Ellia didn't want to take pictures with her friend Sophia. She was crying and all upset.

When I got home and downloaded the pictures and came across this one it really made an impact on me.

This picture sums it all up. This is how I feel on the inside sometimes when life throws me challenges. When my husband or God tells me something that I need to hear but dont like. Or something I need to do that I dont want to do.

This picture will serve as a good reminder. It's funny & cute for Ellia but do I really want to look like that, even on the inside? A picture is worth a million words.

8 Things that drive me CRAZY - inspired by Julie

Here's my current list of 8 things that drive me crazy:

1. All the attention being paid to Hilary Clinton and her crying episode yesterday in NH

2. When my darling husband leaves the lid open to the baby wipes and they dry out

3. The fact that to loose weight you actually have to diet or watch your calorie intake

4. When Ellia wakes up in the middle of the night and wont go back to sleep

5. The neighbors dogs that bark all the time - plus I feel bad for them as they live outside full time and its too cold & rainy for dogs to live outside all the time

6. Drivers who text while driving - Bill and I had this young girl just last night driving in front of us very slow and when we pulled around her she was texting. Where are the police when you need them?

7. When people call my cell phone and dont leave a message. Do they want me to call back or not?

Last but not least:

8. People who leave their Christmas lights up after New Years & turn them on every night- its January 8th people TAKE THEM DOWN -

2008 is HERE!!

Wow, time has flown by so fast. Ellia is 3 months old today. In three months Bill and mine's life has changed soooo much. We are enjoying being parents and are so happy. Ellia has changed our lives so much. She has caused us to slow down and enjoy life. And we cannot wait to see what 2008 brings.

Yesterday, I went to a Beautiful memorial service for a great man of God. He died unexpectantly last week. I was nervous, anxious & sad all at the same time. His service was held at my old church and I saw people I hadn't seen in many years. And although it was hard it was also so wonderful for many reasons. As I sat there hearing all the stories of his life it brought a smile to my face. This man truly had found the meaning of life. He loved the Lord so much and knew he was nothing without Him. He didn't just talk the talk he WALKED it. What an amazing testimony to have at the end of your life. I was very privileged to have seen his life with my own eyes and to have known him. Seeing everyone again was easier than I had thought it would be. It was actually very good for me and I had a wonderful time catching up with everyone.

As I recalled the service later with Bill (he wasn't able to attend) we discussed how we'd like to be remembered. We both agreed that life is too short and it's time to be who God has called you to be NOW. We both agreed that a man's richness isn't found in money but in the happiness he finds in Jesus. Once you have that & understand his forgiveness & goodness you will be filled with many more riches. Great friends, family and a relationship with the Almighty God that can't be squashed. What a wonderful testimony to have & to leave to all of your family & friends when all is said and done.

What is your 2008 going to be about this year?

First Christmas

Yesterday, we celebrated our Lord's birth and what a blessing it was to celebrate. The day was so wonderful and exciting.

This year Bill and I celebrated with our new little girl, Ellia Lorraine. She is only 2 months, 3 weeks & 3 days but whose counting. The excitement of the day for us was lived through her. We had decided to not really buy Ellia anything because she is so young and doesn't need anything. But her daddy couldn't resist and surprised me with a bunch of gifts for our baby girl. He enjoyed watching her and I open them up. Later at Bill's parents house I got to experience the joy & excitement of watching Ellia open presents with Grandma and Grandpa for the first time. It was so much fun to see the excitement in their eyes, the joy and even some tears as they shared this special day with their first grandchild. (I had told Bill to tell them to not buy her anything cause she is so small. But he promptly said "I will not tell my parents they cannot buy Christmas presents for their first grandchild")

Yesterday it really rang true that this day isn't about the gifts but about the people we love. As Bill and I laid in bed last night we recounted the day's events. Our daughter's first Christmas, opening presents with Grandma, Grandpa & Aunt Susan, my new cookbook Deceptively Delicious (that I have wanted for months) and last but not least Ellia's first Christmas snow. All so much fun and many memories made. It was at this moment that I began to cry into my husband's shoulders. You see I was raised in a very poor home. Life in my home was good, but I being the oldest knew just how poor we really were. My parents always tried to do a good job but lights got turned off, phones were disconnected and yes evictions occurred. Christmas's were sparce most years but we still had each other. And as I opened presents yesteray I was humbled. Not by the volume of gifts but by the loving family that I have been so blessed to become part of. After 2.5 years of dating & marriage they have accepted me & brought me into their family with loving arms. As much as I prayed for a husband I prayed for his family. And God really answered all of my prayers. My husband is the BEST but his family is equally great. From his mom & dad, sister, aunts & uncles and cousins (and cousins wives) they are all soooo GREAT and I have grown to love them all so much.

So as I type this blog I am crying - tears of Joy. For I am the most Blessed woman EVER. And this Christmas filled with first's was the BEST one I could've ever dreamed of.

Love - The ultimate sacrifice

So I have to admit I had forgotten about blogging and the fact that I had a blog. Clearly seen by the date of my last blog. What triggered my brain was seeing my husband's cousin's blog page. And I noticed that we had the same back ground. However, I win - I had it first.

So this got me to thinking and here I am blogging again.

Since my last blog I have gotten married. We celebrated our 1st anniversary this July and in October we had our first child - Miss Ellia Lorraine. She is wonderful and has added so much joy to our lives. We absolutely adore her and have fallen madly, deeply in love with her.

With parenthood we have discovered new and exciting things. And yes even some scarey things. But with it all we have found a new sense of joy & love. The instant that Ellia was placed on my chest this outpouring of love invaded my body from head to toe. It was the strangest feeling but yet the most comforting all at the same time. I loved her when she was in my belly but the moment she was out of my belly it was so different.

If I love Ellia like this then I can only imagine the love the Father above has for me. He loves me more than I can fathom, more than I love Ellia. This used to seem so overwhelming and almost to the point of unbelief. But now with Ellia in my life I have come to understand and yes even appreciate it more. I find myself understanding this sacrifice more and more every day. He gave his own son who laid down his life for me - a sinner and died. I can only imagine the Father's anguish as he watched his one and only son dying on the cross. I dont know if I could give Ellia so sacrifically to save this dying world. I continue to be blown away, humbled and gratefull for this gift of life. And to think it took a 6lb 15 ounce bundle of joy to bring me to my knees and teach me more about His ultimate sacrifice.

Where has time gone?

Wow, its been a long time!!!
My last post was soooo long a go and so much has happened I dont know where to begin.
I look at my blogs and last year was a crazy time. But things are looking up.

This last year I met the most wonderful man ever. He's kind, funny, cute, honest and much more. We had been dating 5mnths when he proposed on our Christmas trip to my family in Florida. I said "Yes" of course and we are planning our July wedding.

He is an answer to all my prayers for so many years. He is proof that prayer does pay off and that God does hear even the little prayers. Such as praying for a man to be a good dresser. Know how to dress himself and like fashion. Bill, thats my Fiance, is a great dresser. Sometimes I think he enjoys shopping more than me!

Life has been good to the two of us and we are both ready to jump feet first into this huge thing called MARRIAGE. We are excited, anxious and scared all at the same time. But so ready to start our life together.

To those who read this and are waiting for that special one, dont give up!! Hold on and keep praying! God does hear you and he comes through.....I am proof of that!

Fall has arrived

As I stepped out of the house into the chilly night air I drew in a deep breath. Ahhh, the smell of Fall, yep that's what it was. Oh, how I love this time of year! Fall is my favorite season and every year I wait in anticipation of its coming. There's nothing like bundling up for a long walk with the crunch, crunch of the dry leaves under my feet. Or the smell of fireplaces burning - its such an intoxicating smell.

Fall creeps in like a cat stalking a mouse. And before you know it everything around me is changing. The leaves turn to their beautiful colors of red, orange, and yellow. The air gets a crisp chill and the smell...oh, the smell. All around me is changing and it all brings a smile to my face.

Changes not only occur outside but inside. The summer linens come off the bed and the fruity, flowery candles are put away. Out come the fall decorations, pumpkin spice candles and flannel sheets.

And on the weekends when time permits I busy myself with making soups and pumpkin or banana breads. Their wonderful smells fill my house and again a smile is brought to my face. I will freeze the soups to eat later in the cold of winter. And enjoy the breads hot out of the oven with some butter.

Get out....take a walk...breath in the fresh/crisp air. Smell the fireplaces that burn and listen to the crunch and crackle of the leaves. Bake some bread or make some soup and then tell me if you too dont enjoy Fall as much as I do. Happy Fall time Everyone!!

Home Sick

It came on suddenly and without warning. Fevor, chills, sore throat, headache, earache and before I knew it I was down for the count. The simplest things such as swallowing water, and sleeping became too painful to handle. So there I lay on the couch like a dead fish out of water, trying to hydrate myself but the pain too intense & unbearable.

Why is it when you get sick as an adult it always seems worse? And I know I am not alone in thinkin things like "I might just die". Is it because you are forced to take care of yourself? Suddenly you realize how good you had it when Mom was around to wipe your forehead, bring you chicken noodle soup, rub your back, read to you and tell you "you'll be better in no time"

I hate being sick and for someone who hardly ever gets sick its especially hard to handle. But ironically its when I get sick that I get the most rest, reading & writing done. Because I am forced to rest, relax and lay low. Three things which are very hard for this gal to do on her own. I am a go, go, go, go gal and when a pesky ear infection/throat infection drag me down it messes things up.

And I have noticed this week that things I hardly ever eat all of a sudden sound good to me. Like instant mashed potatoes, pancakes, apple juice, my best friends macroni & cheese, and Campbells chicken noodle soup. ( the traditional can - one I grew up eating - the basic, basic) Probably because their about the only things I can get down my throat. None the less they have become my best friends this week.

I am happy to report that I am on the mend. Not at all ready to swing for a homerun, but maybe a enough for a single hit. Thanks to my antibiotics and lots of rest I might just live another day ;o)
And just so you know my mom did call me and tell me "you'll be better in no time" - just like the good ole days. It brought a smile and slight tear - just knowing that even as a 28 year old women - 3000 miles away she still cares and wishes she was here to take care of me.

A friend Loves at all times

The relationships/friendships between women are a truely amazing thing. I have always known this fact but was recently reminded of it once again. (Sometimes you take things for granted and it takes a moment of stupidity to remind you how important things really are.)

Women have this unique ability to lash out, forgive/forget & then cry all within minutes of fighting/arguing with a good friend. I know when God was creating us He knew that we would need this ability to make it through life and didnt hesitate in awarding us this trait instead of our counterparts. But along with this trait, ability, curse.... whatever you might call it comes much sorrow, exhaustion, misconception, frustration and lots & lots of tears.

This unique trait that was bestowed upon us women was recently tested and applied in my own life. On two seperate occassions with different friends I was brought to my breaking point....and sadly I reacted in the wrong manner. I spouted off (imagine that ) and then I did what I do best...I turned and ran as far from them as I could get. Afraid to face the facts, admit I was wrong, upset that I had been cornered and confronted. But within minutes was able to see the reality of the situation, see where I was wrong, see where I needed to change & wanted to change. I came back to both of them, apologized and then shed those tears that us women are sooooo famous for.

And as I sit here typing now... a tear is shed but this time with a smile upon my face. Because I am reminded of the following verse "A friend Loves at all times" Prov. 17:17. And I am reminded of how great my friends truely are. How much they make me laugh, keep me accountable, forgive my attuides, put up with my sarcasim & sports talk/stats, speak sense into me when needed (and we know I need this quite often) and yes.... even cry with me. A true friendship is one that sticks by you through and through no matter what comes your way. Thru thick and thin....they are there...ready to do battle on your behalf all in the true name of Love & Friendship.

**This blog is dedicated to all my friends (and you know who you are) who have laughed, cried, confronted and just stood by me through the years. Without you life would be a very sad place. You make my life enjoyable and fun. Thank You!**

Stitch & Pitch

Tonight my blog is about the Seattle Mariner's fan appreciation nights. What has our sports world come to when we combine Knitting and an all American classic such as Baseball???
I ask you this....... do the two even remotely sound similar?? Well, someone within the Mariner's franchise in effort to draw more fans decided that the two go hand n hand.

Thats right you're reading right....tonight the game against Cleveland has been named "Stitch & Pitch" night at Safeco. They have reserved a special section just for the Knitters and their fans. They will even have special booths set up inside the stadium selling yarn and patterns.

No, offense to those who knit...but knit at a baseball game? Do you really have time to watch the game as you are knitting? And what if a fly ball comes in your direction? Combine the ball with your needles and for sure "someone will poke an eye out." Plus, its hard enough to pay attention to a baseball game normally but combine that with knitting. I just dont see how the two can go together. I know I am a huge sports fan and I am trying to push my own feelings & love for the game aside. But it just doesn't make any sense to me. Am I alone here?

This morning when I polled some co-workers about this very topic and how crazy it was I was met with some opposition. I was informed that knitting has become very popular and was told that "it's not your grandmothers hobby anymore". Did you know they have knitting clubs in Seattle? And even wilder is the fact that most of the members are College age girls. One of the coolest women I know (my pastors wife Shannon) has taken up this very hobby and loves it. So this cool/trendy new hobby is making its rounds.

But honestly - knitting at a baseball game? Come on????? Is this what our Mariners have sunk too to recruit new fans in the middle of a slump? Whats next? Scrapbookers night or better yet Stampers night? Even the sportcasters who call the game on the tv/radio got into the whole "Stich & Pitch" theme. When Miguel Olivo hit a homerun in the sixth inning they said "He really hit the stiches out of that ball" Come on?? Where do we say enough is enough? Quit messing with an all American past time & just ... "P L A Y... B A L L"

**Please note their are no harsh feelings against any knitters by the author of this blog**

Bus Rules = Good Etiquette

So for those of who you dont know I take the bus to work every day. This requires a 35 minute ride each way on a lovely Snohomish Community Transit bus. When I accepted my job I didnt know it involved commuting by bus, but I have come to enjoy this form of public transportation.

However, today I am blogging the "Bus Rules". In an effort that others will read & pass along these rules. And better Bus Etiquette will PREVAIL!

When you take a bus there are just some common courtesy rules, under written rules that you learn/pick up on quickly. Kinda of like when you join the military...no one tells you where the mess hall is, you just follow the crowd and find it. Well, same thing with the "Bus rules"

Here are the 10 golden "Bus Rules" for those who aren't commuting Pro's:

1. Be on time = dont come speeding into the park n ride as bus is pulling up and expect the driver & your fellow commuters to wait for you.

2. Be courteous of your headphone usage = dont have your music so loud that your fellow commuter can hear the rap crap you're listening too at 5:30 in the morning.

3. Silence your cell phone = self explanatory - no one wants to hear your cell phone going off

4. Cell phone usuage s/b kept at a minimum = no one wants to hear about your adventures the night before or about your crappy day at work. We had crappy days too...save that conversation for when you're not on the bus.

5. If you're going to sleep then lean against the window and not on your neighbor.

6. Dont sit in one seat and put your stuff in the other seat keep your stuff on your lap and allow others to sit if they'd like.

7. If you bring on a newspaper then leave with it. As much as I do enjoy the paper I dont want to clean up your mess before I sit down.

8. Gentlemen = give up your seat to a lady. Dont make her stand. Didn't your mamma teach you manners???

9. Be courteous of your perfume/cologne = dont take a bath in it. It might smell good to you but it dont smell good to me.

And lastly & the most important:

10. If a line has formed = go to the end. Dont just come stand at the bus sign and expect that you will be first. Who do you think you are? The line leader??? Your fellow commuters have been waiting in a line patiently a lot longer than you. And we earned our place in line. We all learned about lines in elementary school. No one likes a "cuter"

This last rule has spurred my blog today. People are soooo inconsiderate and it really ticks me off how rude some people can be. A few months ago I spoke up to a guy and said " Excuse me son, but this lady has been waiting long before you, please take your place at the end of the line". He wasn't happy with me and stomped his way went to the end of the line like a 2 year old. Here's the kicker he was about my age and I called him "son" - but I was just fit to be tied that morning.

So there you have them, the 10 golden "Bus Rules" - now if you ever have to commute by bus you will be prepared. My hope is that now we are all informed of these 10 golden rules and Bus Etiquette will prevail. Which will result in a better commuting world. ;o) A girl can hope right?

Here today you can play with fire

Why is it that all year we tell kids "dont play with fire you'll get burned" But once a year when the 4th comes around we hand them a sparkler or equivalent and say "go have fun - just be careful"

Isn't this giving our kids a double message??? One that says its okay on this one day and only because everyone else is doing it.

So then what else is okay on that one day a year??? Sure this double message seems small but where else will we let small double messages interfere? (this should be the subject of another blog...too long for this one)

Dont get me wrong I love fireworks and lighting them off just like the rest of my friends. And I love the reason we celebrate on the 4th. But it seems every year some child or some one being stupid is hurt, mamed, burned or killed by fireworks. Seems we should just pay a little more attention to safety and to the double messages we are sending to our kids.

Okay, deep breath......now I'm done with my vent.

Have a happy 4th everyone!! And be SAFE!

"She's like the wind"

So today in Seattle it was just beautiful out. As I exited church I knew today would be a good day for a Greenlake visit. (For those not from Seattle, Greenlake is a 3.1 walking, running, biking path trail around a lake in the middle of the city - a must visit if ever in Seattle)

See my friend and I have ventured out into the unknown world of running. Both running/walking several times a week. Running has always been a fun thing for me. I love being "one with nature" as I run. Letting my mind wonder and just getting out into nature. My friend lives out of state but we chat often and the other night he told me about the Seattle half & full marathon this fall. Running a marathon is one of my lifetime goals. So before I even realized what I was saying I said "I'll do it with you"....not taking in the full toll of this adventure until the next day. When I awoke thinkin "What the heck???"

So I marched myself down to Barnes & Noble to do some research. (and one of the best places to people watch) I browsed through lots of books and runners magazines. Eventually purchasing a guide book for a female runner.

Then today I got around Greenlake in less than half hour walking/running...and so decided what the heck I'll go around again nuttin else to do this afternoon. As I am walking/running the song from Dirty Dancing .... "She's like the wind" is running through my head. Which by the way has nothing to do with running...but for some reason it is in my head...anyways....I finished up my two laps around the lake with an iced Passion fruit tea with sugar free vanilla from the great Starbucks! And then popped into Jock n Jill. A store created entirely for the runner..and they have everything u can imagine in there. Even letting you try on the shoe and run up the hill to see if it works for you.

So upon entering I meet a nice guy named Chuck who after several minutes I find out has been running for 25 years, is married with several kids, coaches runners, has run the Seattle Marathon several times and writes aritcles for Runners Northwest magazine. So feeling confident in my sales man, he has me run for him thru the store to see my "running stride". Then he helps me pick out a new pair of "running shoes" and tells me to stop runnning in my current ones - which offer no support for my "pronating stride" and even today rubbed a blister on my foot.

I leave the store feeling confident in my purchase and in my new adventure. Chuck offers me lots of support, encouragement, web sites to visit, and gives me free copy of the current Runners Northwest. Tells me to aim for the Half Marathon later this summer and get into some local 5k & 10k run/walks around the area this summer. Will keep you posted....as I am off and running.

A gulp of water

There they were all sitting there on the porch dried out and crying out for water. If they could speak I'm sure they would've said "where have you been all week?" My plants speaking to me now thats a crazy idea.

I planted them last weekend, but in my madness of life forgot to water them all week. So this morning when I awoke to the soothing sound of the rain I remembered them and rushed out to the porch. I moved them all out off the porch and into the pounding rain. Two of them had to remain partially under the porch awning as they are a little more delicate than the rest and the pounding rain would crush them. All while thinking.... "there now I wont have to water them".

It occurred to me in that very moment that my plants are just like me. I am that dying out plant that is in desperate need of water. By the end of the week life, work, friends, family have sucked me dry. I collapse on Friday night and wait for my "water" to fill me back up. It seems like this is how I feel more and more lately. I feel like one of my plants and am just waiting for that gulp of water to revitalize me.

I find it so amazing how God knows just how much water to give me and when to give it too me. He knows when I am just too delicate and only need a small amount. He never forgets about me even when I forget about him. And I am always in awe of His ablillities to satisfy my every need and come to my aid even when I think I am A-Ok. Through His word, a friends call, a song or as I attend to my neglected plants He pierces my heart and reminds me he is still in control.

Dating/Singleness is just crazy

So it seems like I am in this never ending dating/singleness craze of life. And sometimes its not all its cracked up to be. Its fun, but gets old afterwhile. I can only sit home on a Friday night for so long and when the movie store manager knows you.... "houston we have a problem".

So I've been trying this whole internet dating thing. Yes, people I have ventured into the whole online "cyberspace" unknown. And its not bad....its what you make of it. I've met some freaks, geeks and loners. But for the most part its been okay. Where else is someone in 2005 suppose to meet another nice person?? Bars/Clubs are out. And lets admit it, eligible/single men aren't hanging out anywhere I am. My hangouts are pretty much isolated to work, church, Starbucks (well sometimes), grocery store, gas stations (more freaks here than anywhere else.) etc..... And so far no luck at any of these places. Sometimes I think how great would it be if he just plopped down on my doorstep....whatever would I do?? Probably faint.

So anyways, this whole online thing has been good to me. Lots of dinners, coffee, walking around Greenlake dates. But nothing too serious. Its been fun, and thats what dating is suppose to be, right?

And then eventually you meet someone you enjoy being with. Then before you know it one thing leads to another and you find yourself married. Isn't that how it happens?

But now I dont even know where I stand on the whole marriage thing. Up till recently I thought it was this great thing and wanted to be part of it. But now it seems it has some drawbacks as well. Within 6months 4 friends marriage's have broken up. What is going on? Is it an epidemic? It sure makes me think twice about getting married.

So who knows maybe I'll keep up with this dating/singleness thing a little bit longer. Cant hurt me anymore than it has and it is fun. So who the heck knows. I will keep my blog updated with any new dating fun, stories, gripes/complaints etc....cause its nice to just vent to cyberspace.
