Halloween Fun

Halloween was an eventful day in our house to say the least. It started early & ended late and the girls made it through with no naps!! Unbelievable but true. We had an adorable Minnie Mouse and the cutest Ladybug you ever saw.

Our day started by stopping by Costco to see daddy at work & deliver Halloween cookies to him & his employees. (sorry such a small pic, it was taken on my cell phone)

2ND Trip was to see Grandma, Grandpa & Auntie Sus.

After a short stop at home for some quick nap time, which didn't happen we headed in the rain to downtown Snohomish to go Trick or Treating. Ellia loved this part of the day!! She had so much fun going into each store and saying "Tick or teat". She wasn't at all fazed by the rain that was pouring down on us. Addie was content in her stroller with a cookie & didn't mind that she wasn't getting to participate.

Addie chillin out in the stroller with her cookie

On our way back to the car Ellia decided she wanted to carry the umbrella.

It was a bit big for her but she managed it pretty well

After an hour of fun we headed home to get ready for our own Trick or Treating visitors. We made our traditional Halloween dinner. Potato Rice soup and waited for daddy & the visitors to start knocking. With each knock Bubba, Ellia and Addie pulling up the rear would run to the door to see the kids & give them candy.

Once daddy got home we headed out for some neighborhood trick or treating. It was pouring down rain and we made it to 3 houses! But at least daddy got to participate a bit too.

Friday Facts

I got this idea from Bill's cousin Tiffany over at Still Seeking Sanity decided to try it out today:

Thankful For:

My wonderful husband who works so hard that I can stay home with our girls. I was reminded of this especially this week when I saw an old co-worker. And I walked away thinking " I am so glad I am not working there anymore" He has made so many sacrifices for our family the last few years that I hope one day I can make it up to him.

Listening to:

"Kipper the dog" theme song as the girls are attempting to destroy the living room and watch the TV.

Whats for dinner:

Tacos and re-fried beans. I will probably make a yummy taco salad!
(BTW - Tiff, breakfast for dinner, what we like to call "brinner" doesn't happen in this house. I cannot stand the smell of breakfast items cooking at night)

Looking forward to:

Halloween tomorrow and dressing the girls in their costumes. Ellia is going to be Minnie Mouse or "MmmMouse" as she calls it and Addie is going to be the cutest ladybug ever! We have a busy day tomorrow. The girls and I will visit daddy at work in their costumes, visit G & G and Auntie "Sus", then home for naps before the BIG night of trick or treating (in our neighborhood) and handing out candy. Should be fun day but a busy day!

Needing or wanting:

A kick start in my Arbonne business. Things have been slow and partly because I have been dragging. I need to get my butt in gear.

Missing:

Sleep! Addie is teething and not sleeping well for over a week now. It's not fun! And I just want to sleep through the night for more than one night before this 3rd baby comes!!!

Quote of the day:

This morning after seeing Addie and I in pumpkin Halloween shirts Ellia said
"mama me want pumpkin too"
When I told her I didn't have a pumpkin shirt for her (Addie's was Ellias last year) she started crying and saying
"I want it, I want it, I want a pumpkin shirt"
So guess what I did after checking with Bill? I ran out to Target and bought her a pumpkin shirt. And she wore it with a big smile on her face.

A letter to my girls

Dear sweet girls,

I know that you do not enjoy nap time. You would much rather be up terrorizing the dog, emptying out the baskets of toys, digging in the garbage can or tag team wrestling on the floor.

However, nap time is a sacred time for mama. This is the time that I get to take a breather and relax. I get to sit down to a lunch prepared just for me and eat without little girls climbing/pulling on me. I get to check my email, blog, try to finish the 3rd book in the Twilight series, talk on the phone - uninterrupted by a certain little girl saying "me talk" and maybe just maybe take a nap.

This is NOT the time that I do laundry, dishes, sweep or clean of any sorts. Although this is what I would like you to believe I do. This is time for me. I know this may sound selfish but your Mama is very busy and needs some time for herself.

So dear, sweet Addie I know you think that two naps daily isn't needed anymore but you do need at least one. And sweet Ellia I know that you think a nap should only be an hour but really two hours or more is best for all of us. Trust me! Otherwise that crazy woman that comes out sometimes will be making more appearances and she is kinda of scary.

Can we work together to make nap time successful? Lets hear it for Naps! Yeah, for naps! That's more like it. Here's to making nap time last longer & not seeing that scary woman as often!

Love,
Mama

Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This was created by MckMama, go to her blog to see what she and everyone else have NOT been doing this week!

Last night I did NOT attempt to argue with my duck hunting husband about what it means to carry a concealed weapon. And as to what the actual license is called. He did NOT in so many words tell me I did NOT know what I was talking about.

Yesterday, I did NOT ask Bill to help me re-arrange the furniture. I did NOT tell him I wanted to move the nicer & comfier couch back into the family room. And this is NOT the exact one we moved out a few months ago because I wanted more space for the girls in the family room to play & I wanted to preserve it, as it is our nicest piece of furniture. And he did NOT look at me like I was crazy!

Bill has been convinced that Addie is NOT walking because she doesn't have our big ottoman to cruise around like Ellia did. And I have NOT been trying to prove to him she is just a bit slower at walking and does NOT need this ottoman to learn to walk.

After we moved the furniture around last night she did NOT begin to cruise around & around it. And she did NOT let go of ottoman and take 2 very small steps towards the couch all on her own. Nope the ottoman is NOT the key to her learning how to walk at all!!!

Our children are NOT allowed to stand on the furniture. We are trying to teach them to be respectful of furniture and that they are not monkeys. So this morning when Ellia climbed up on the ottoman and began dancing to the "hot dog dance" on the Mickey Mouse clubhouse show I most certainly did NOT cheer her on, clap for her and tell her what a good dancer she was. Nope NOT this mama!

What did you NOT do this week?

Not Me Monday!

This past weekend I did NOT go away on a MOPS leadership retreat and enjoy every single moment of it! Who wouldn't enjoy not cooking, relaxing, laughing, crafting & hanging out with some cool women?

That first night I did NOT call my husband at 1:45 am to ask him "Do I snore?" just to make sure before all the other women came to bed. He was NOT asleep and barely able to talk!!L

Last week I did NOT declare one day Pajama day to the girls and we did NOT stay in our pj's all day long!! It was NOT the best day of the week!

This morning I did NOT let Ellia crack the egg into the bowl for our Pumpkin pancakes only to have her break up the shells too. We did NOT cook them anyways. And amazingly we did NOT taste any of the shells. Well at least I didn't, who know if the girls did.

Because our whole family was gone this past weekend at various activities and the dog was locked up for long periods of time I did NOT say he could sleep on our bed. Something I do NOT like to do. And then last night when he tried to jump on the bed again I did NOT tell him, "Your special sleeping nights are over, get on your own bed"

National Pregnancy & Child loss rememberance day

Today, is National Pregnancy & Child loss remembrance day, did you know that?

I did not until I visited one of my favorite blogs today. Which got me to thinking of our two precious miracles. We are so blessed to have them in our lives. And the newest one on the way, due next May.

We have never suffered one of these losses but my heart aches for those who have. If you read this please know you are in my thoughts & prayers today. And know that God is good & He is in the business of miracles!

Our cousin whom we are close with suffered 2 early miscarriages and was devastated by them. But God is good! Today little Georgia was born healthy!! And her parents couldn't be more delighted to be finally holding their little miracle.

Addie's birthday party was so much fun. I cannot believe our "LoveBug" is already a year! She is growing so fast. Starting to walk & talk and is turning into a little girl. I am finally doing her hair in those pixy little ponytails that I know she loves so much. (yeah right) She is such a delight to our family and we are so glad that the Lord has a sense of humor. Even if her screech is ear piercing loud. She adds so much joy to our household and she is adored by her big sister!
Happy Birthday Adilynn!

Not Me Monday on Tuesday

This morning after dropping my Dad off at the airport I did NOT cry for a good 5 Min's. I am a daddy's girl at heart.

Ellia did NOT ask "Where my Papa go?" and when we told her he went home on the plane she did NOT say "miss you Papa" and I did NOT start crying again.

We did NOT tell Ellia that her "didy" = pacifier went home with Papa. It is time for her to give it up and she is not willing. So we shall see how this little trick works. And after I decided to do this I did NOT tell Bill you have to help me be strong! Cause I tend to give into her cries for "diddddddddy" but yet I am the one that wants it gone the most.

Yesterday, I did NOT wake up with my first pregnancy craving. All day I thought about a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting. And my husband and dad did NOT drive me around for 1hr & to 5 different stores until we found one!!! It was delicious!!!

Addie's 1st birthday party was this weekend. I did NOT make her invitations, I did NOT make it such a big deal like Ellia's, I did NOT get her one year old pictures taken like we did with Ellia and she did NOT almost have a birthday outfit (thank goodness for a late nite run to walmart where I found one for $10bucks). And because of this I did NOT have a major melt down crying the other night in my husbands arms.

Conversations heard around the house

"Mama, Addie have a poopy butt but not me" - translation = Ellia has a dirty diaper & she is blaming it on her sister.

"Mama, you have a poopy butt" - as I step out of the shower only to discover that she is talking to her Grandpa on the phone, my FIL.

"Yeahhhhhhh Costcooooooooooooo" - Ellia's new favorite place...Hmmm, wonder where she gets that from?

Then in the car tonight -

Addie was playing with a balloon and pooping her pants with loud grunts. And I said
"That's my girl, a real multi-tasker, just like her Mama"

"You know Harvard has done a study that says multi taskers don't use all their brains and really aren't good at finishing projects" says Bill

"Are you saying that your daughter and in turn your wife don't use their brains and aren't good at finishing projects?" I ask him

"I'm just saying what I heard on the radio, doesn't mean it's true"

Good answer honey, good answer!

Not Me Monday!

This past week my kids did NOT eat doughnuts 2x for breakfast because I was sick & daddy was in charge. Isn't this what all kids eat when Daddy is in charge?

I did NOT start putting pony tails in our almost 1 year old's hair this week. She does NOT have a lot of hair and she does NOT cry every time I put them in & take them out.

And tonight when I took out her ponies and she cried I did NOT tell her "Pain for beauty baby, you need to learn it sooner or later"

I am NOT having the worst case of morning sickness almost daily (yep, that's right I am pregnant) and am NOT really hating being pregnant right now. I do NOT repeat to myself daily, "This too shall pass" even as I am vomitting in the toilet.

Saturday night I did NOT ask Bill at 11 o'clock at night to go clean the toilet because I when I woke up Sunday morning and needed to throw up yet again I would like to have a clean toilet. A good wife would've already cleaned it, right?

Back to life, back to reality

Remember a song that had the lyrics
"Back to life, Back to Reality"

Well, that is me this week. Back to life & reality. Boy the last few weeks have been such a blur. Life literally passed me by and left me in the dust.

I have been playing catch up with house work, laundry, emails, blogs, MOPS and just about anything else. Plus, my dad flew in for a 2week visit and so I've also had a house guest.

But I am happy to report that life is finally getting back on track. Finally!!
